'Birther' book soars in sales even AFTER Obama releases his Birth Certificate
Edited on Tue May-31-11 03:40 PM by Quixote1818

First of all the news media should go after the publisher for publishing something that has been proved without a doubt to now be false. The publisher should lose all credibility after this and should NOT be let off the hook. Second of all this shows the Teabaggers are complete idiots and motivated by race. They really need to be made fun of in the worst ways!

'Birther' book soars

By: CNN Associate Producer Gabriella Schwarz

(CNN) – A new book, now number six on the New York Times' Best Sellers list, is putting the so-called "birther" issue back on the national stage.

"Where's the Birth Certificate?" by Jerome Corsi, which debuted on the list out Sunday, argues President Obama is not a natural-born U.S. citizen and therefore cannot be president.

"Corsi demonstrates conclusively that no legal authority has ever verified Obama's legal eligibility to be president," the book reads.

Corsi also wrote "The Obama Nation" and "Unfit for Command," a 2004 book about Sen. John Kerry that focused on the "Swift Boat" television ads.

The "birther" controversy was front-and-center earlier this year, as billionaire businessman and real estate mogul Donald Trump repeatedly discussed the issue while considering a run for the White House. President Obama ultimately released the long-form version of his birth certificate that shows he was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961. Soon after, Trump announced he would not make a bid for the GOP presidential nomination.

7. Two points
1.- They were bought in bulk. Regnery Press should not even be allowed into those numbers.

2.- Facts don't matter.

8. What politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com left out ...
<snip>

The book, it's worth noting, received an early boost from Matt Drudge. But there's another catch here: the Times placed a dagger (†) symbol next to the entry for "Where's the Birth Certificate?" on the bestseller list, indicating that "that some retailers report receiving bulk orders."

This is not unusual in the world of conservative publishing. Mitt Romney's campaign biography debuted on top of the NYT bestseller list last year, but it was later reported that Romney was asking institutions hosting his speeches to buy thousands of copies of the book at a sharply discounted price. It's to the advantage of publishers to sell books in bulk, thus landing on the bestseller lists and creating buzz.

10. According to my grandfather (who, while I knew was conservative, I had no idea...
...was a 'bagger/birther)...

"OH yes, he released A birth certificate. So why did it take him THREE YEARS to do it, huh? You don't have an answer because there isn't one, all he had to do was show one and it would have been over, but instead he kept trying to pass off this Live Birth thing, saying he didn't have a Birth Certificate, then he goes out and releases a Birth Certificate. We knew he had one, and we made him show it, so now the question is is it real, why did it take so long to produce it? Because it's fake, that's why."

Don't forget to add in a smarmy, sarcastic Indiana drawl when reading that to yourself, one filled with arrogance and scorn at the mere THOUGHT that his beloved grandchild became a filthy liberal.

13. Yep, bulk sales...
and most of those will wind up being 'freebie giveaways' (free, that is, when you send your 'donation' to keep the site on the interwebs!) from sites like snoozemax, worldnutdaily, and the rest of the wingnut hangouts.
