Last weekend the faithful waited for the rapture...this week they wait and wait and wait for Palin
Crowds wait and wait and wait for Palin
Gettysburg, Pennsylvania (CNN) - A crowd of more than 100 waited and waited throughout a hot and humid Memorial Day at one of the Gettysburg battlefield's major monuments hoping Sarah Palin would show up. As evening broke they were still waiting.

The crowd, made up of both tourists and local citizens, had different reasons for showing up - some wanted to urge her to run for president, others just wanted a glimpse.

Mark Allen sported a hat urging Palin to run for president. "We know she is going to be here on a family vacation," he said, adding he was excited at the prospect of her mounting a presidential campaign.

There were also several television crews and satellite trucks, including one from CNN, waiting for a possible Palin appearance. Some of those waiting said they were there because they saw the media.

1. "crowd of more than 100"?????
We get more than 100 at my 12 year-old daughter's softball games .... I wonder who I call at CNN to cover those.

6. Ha!
Lizz Winstead (creator of the Daily Show) tweeted "Sarah Palin would like to remind us all that you can't spell Memorial Day without "Me""

4. Exactly who do you mean by "the faithful" or is this just a broad, unspecific term?
If by "the faithful", you mean "Christians", most Christians do not believe in the Rapture and I'm pretty sure that most who do believe in it do not believe that anyone knows the day. (Oh yeah, the linked story does not mention the Rapture.)

13. Palin is well known for her Christian faith, it is the reason she
gives for opposing equal rights for minorities she does not like, same as the President and Biden and many others do.
Dear, everyone knows that not all faith folk are alike. We also know that many of them hold nasty dogmas against our families. You are going to have to deal with that reality as long as you allow your faith mates to use the faith as a weapon.
