Recipient Of Alleged Rep. Weiner Photo Issues Statement
Edited on Mon May-30-11 01:12 PM by katanalori
Gennette Nicole Cordova’s statement, in full:

"Friday evening I logged onto Twitter to find that I had about a dozen new mentions in less than an hour, which is a rare occurrence. When I checked one of the posts that I had been tagged in I saw that it was a picture that had supposedly been tweeted to me by Congressman Anthony Weiner."

"The account that these tweets were sent from was familiar to me; this person had harassed me many times after the Congressman followed me on Twitter a month or so ago. Since I had dealt with this person and his cohorts before I assumed that the tweet and the picture were their latest attempts at defaming the Congressman and harassing his supporters.

Annoyed, I responded with something along the lines of “are you f***ing kidding me?” and “I’ve never seen this. You people are sick.” I blocked their accounts, made my page private, and let the matter drop, expecting them to eventually do the same."

1. When does Breitbart get held responsible for this shit?
Faux and others pick this stuff up like it's fact even knowing the Breitbart is a pathalogical liar.

Maybe if there are enough of them out there, he'll run out of money.

We can only hope.

14. The question is why hasn't already run out?
Man has to have some bloody serious legal fees by now.

Someone with seriously deep pockets is backing this smear mechanic.

15. Well then we need to start finding ways to drain THEIR pockets, too.
Anything extra they have to spend helping this bastard "defend" himself is money they won't be able to give to the GOP. That was one of the best things about NY 26 - all those truckloads of money they ordinarily wouldn't even have had to consider spending on a district like that - and they STILL lost. I LOVE to see republi-CONS and their rich friends and backers forced to squander tons of money! That's really the only thing they care about, or feel pain about.

5. Because there are idiots who idiotically repeat "Where there's smoke..
There's fire" as I saw online in an equally ridiculous context yesterday.

There are people who want this shit to be true. And they spread it deliberately just for the sheer malicious joy of appearing to be "in the know."

25. I've seen DUers use that phrase....
..."where there's smoke, there's fire" - and when I saw it used - once again, there was no fire - just smoke - and mirrors.

9. THIS IS PURE BULLSHIT!
I believe this is a direct result of Anthony's crushing blow he dealt the fascists on the floor of the House the other day. They know he has a loud voice and will NOT be silenced. Anthony could single handedly become the GOP's worst nightmare because he is more than willing to tell the truth about Ryancare. WE MUST SILENCE THE GOP ON THIS ISSUE. WE CAN NOT LOSE THE MESSAGE ON THIS ONE. THE TIME HAS COME!

11. On twitter ..........
Rep. Weiner has not said much about this - on the day it appeared, he seemed to sluff it off as another "weiner joke."

But it is no laughing matter - a young girl's life is upside down. I am SO hoping for an investigation/lawsuits by Rep. Weiner and this young lady.

Meanwhile, on twitter - Breitbart is TAUNTING Rep. Weiner, asking him why Holder is not investigating. Breitbart still insinuating it is legit - despite much evidence to the contrary.

Edited on Sun May-29-11 08:27 PM by newblewtoo
before the truth gets its pants on ~ needs to be updated for the Internet Age. Not only does it get half way around the world it lingers like a stale farts in your favorite chair. Snopes does a good job of setting the record straight but don't purge the information.

When these dirty tricks are proved to be willfully done swift justice should be administered not just financial, how about some jail time.

16. What an admirable young woman
In her statement she makes it clear that neither she nor Rep. Weiner had anything to do with the photo, that people who had been inappropriate before were somehow connected, and that there was never anything inappropriate between Rep. Weiner and her. I've seen releasess from professional publicists that were not as comprehensive or coherent in such a concise statement.

I hope she does sue Breibart. He needs to be shut down and the only way to do it is to hit him in his wallet often and hard.

If exposing his revolting behavior and lies won't.

Based on the Congressman's silence about the matter, I'm inclined to believe some things are already in motion.

One of the ways to control people is to make examples...ugly, ugly examples...of a few. You seem to have been chosen by some @^4^$(@# for that terrible distinction. That it is totally un-American is an added idiocy.
Please know that real Americans are on your side.

35. Stories like this make me question using social networking sites at all
I use them to stay in touch with a very large family that is scattered across the globe but maybe it's time to stick to e-mail. I know that can be hacked as well but it's still preferable to leaving oneself so publicly vulnerable. It's scary stuff when someone can make it appear that an image has been sent and/or received by you. That can be used in all sorts of nefarious ways. I have had secure Wi-Fi hacked by someone who did not leave a trace - the only way I could tell was my speed slowing down and a neighbor miraculously getting broadband access after I turned off the Wi-Fi. The possibilities that technology brings in terms of negatively impacting or even ruining other people's lives is no small thing. It's quite worrisome. I really hope Weiner and Cordova can get some justice and shine some light on this issue. Everyone is focused on the political angle but this sort of thing could happen to anyone with enemies - whether open or hidden.

36. I thinking this could happen to any of us who irritate the right-wingers
I know I get hate comments when I speak out about an injustice and someone could even go much farther. Rep. Wiener has been speaking out against injustice for awhile now, and it would stand to reason he'd be a target of a scam like this. I hope the person or persons responsible for this scam will be caught and dealt with. How do people become so hateful and hurtful?
