Nasty storms moving through S.E. Michigan

Not that anyone at their computer is in danger, but if you have friends/family who might be out enjoying the weekend it could be worth sending them a text.

Stay safe people.

5. Yeah, but God loves Detroit more than anyplace
Notice North, South, and West are all Tornado Warnings...we are going to get a little rain...not that I do not worry about fellow Michiganders, but according to the reverend Pat Robertson...God loves Detroit

6. I assume it is the effect of Lake St. Clair

I live about 2 miles inland from where the lake meets the Detroit River and I see storms break up and go around me all the time.

I am no meteorologist but from personal experience that is my uninformed assumption.

(or maybe God loves the Grosse Pointes)

8. I grew up on the west side of Detroit and
remember many tornado warning days but never any touching down in the city. Hope that holds true today as most of my family is still there............

had to have been back in the 90's. I was still working in Detroit.

10. Nah, It's Detroit, God has never heard of the Grosse Pointes :)
I saw the same thing happen the other day, as the storm grew near it dissipated at Detroit almost like magic...it was like an hour glass with the extreme weather just moved to the north and south...

P.S. Thanks for the information...

13. It really wasn't much here in central Oakland Co.
The peak winds when the gust front blew through were probably 30 mph. Some lightning and thunder, and heavy rain. But all in all, here in the Bloomfields, we've seen far worse.

Its all over here except for some lingering light rain. The western sky is beginning to brighten just a bit.

So, considering they blew the sirens twice in less than an hour, not bad.
