More Solid Proof That Obamacare Is Working
More Solid Proof That Obamacare Is Working
May. 23 2011

Recent data provided by the nation’s largest health insurance companies reveals that a provision of the Affordable Care Act – or Obamacare – is bringing big numbers of the uninsured into the health care insurance system.

...The provision of the law that permits young adults under 26, long the largest uninsured demographic in the country, to remain on their parents’ health insurance program resulted in at least 600,000 newly insured Americans during the first quarter of 2011.

...According to a Kaiser survey, there has been a 46% uptick in businesses with less than 10 employees offering health benefits as compared to last year.

Health care reform is working, folks – and we have yet to get to the really big benefits which kick in come 2014.

3. Ummmm......
I have insurance. I havent seem a fucking doctor for nearly 15 years. THat insurance has a high deductible, carries a co-pay beyond that, does not cover doctor visits and only covers generic drugs.

Having insurance is not the same as having meaningful access to affordable healthcare.

Being required to carry insurance that one cannot afford to use is little more than another fucking tax - only this one is designed to suport the for profit insurance companies.

5. More solid proof would be if people stopped calling it Obamacare.
That's a pejorative meant to invoke Hillary and socialism and commie take-overs. It might be easy to say, but it doesn't help anything.

6. It won't hurt in the long-run. "Obamacare" could be a badge of honor.
If we called Social Security, RooseveltSecurity, or if we called Medicare, KennedyCare ... would either be perjorative?

When "Obamacare" becomes popular and is expanded, which is certain to happen eventually, then the Republicans will want to call it something else completely.

8. So we should expect a corresponding price decline for
services and premiums, right?
