"Pretty" republicans like Palin and Bachmann as bait for the GOP
I've been working on this theory as to why the GOP continues to support whack-jobs like Palin and Bachmann, yet marginalize them once their usefulness is over.

Bachmann was reelected after much press attention but has been denied the chairmanship she desired. Palin spent the past election season attracting attention for fellow teabaggers running for election (while making as much money as she can) yet we are now reading stories about how the GOP leadership doesn't want her to run for president in 2012. Why? They seem to love her the rest of the time. I've long felt there was more than a whiff of sexism in the way these women are treated in the press and by liberals but couldn't exactly put my finger on why.

I've decided these women are like the pretty girls draped over the new cars at car shows. Everyone knows sex sells and that is their purpose for the GOP. Their role is to appeal to the baser instincts of their male base but once they've done their job (attracting money and votes), they are put aside until needed again.

They are the "spokes-models" for the GOP and they don't get that they are not valued for anything but their looks. Either that or they know and just don't care. They are being used by the powers-that-be, just like the teabaggers and the fundamentalists. (And yes, I get it that not everyone finds them attractive but the GOP base seems to think they are, and that's the target audience.)

Am I the only one who thinks this is true?

7. Dunno they push big hairy fat guys too. (Christie)
- Palin isn't marginalized, she is right where she wants to be. She had a high profile office and she quit it to become a "personality"

- Bachmann isn't marginalized either really.

As to Christie, looks like he is imploding.
