Russia: Iran's Nuclear Plant To Work At Capacity In Weeks
AP MOSCOW

Russia says Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant will operate at its capacity in the next few weeks.

The first reactor at Bushehr went into operation earlier this week, but the plant is still running tests of control and protection systems.

The Bushehr plant is part of Iran's controversial civil nuclear energy program but because Tehran is obligated to return spent fuel from the plant to Russia, it is not considered a proliferation risk.

The United States and some of its allies believe the Bushehr plant is part of an Iranian attempt to develop nuclear weapons. Iran denies the accusation.

1. Use nuclear power at home. Export natural gas. Profit.
Anti-nuclear activism in places like Germany is creating new business opportunities for nations like Iran and Russia.

If you are anti-nuclear activist you have to be anti-fossil-fuel activist to a much greater extent or you're simply shifting the mess around.

Quoting John Muir, when one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world. The principle is the same for energy economics as it is for ecology.
