Does Newt Gingrich really believe he can get to be president?
Edited on Fri May-13-11 01:57 PM by Cyrano
Gingrich is among one of the most despicable people (Republican or otherwise) that has come on the scene in the past few decades.

You just gotta love that he's a "professor" and "historian." Then again, given the sewer into which Republicans want to drive American education, I guess he deserves those titles.

But "President Newt Gingrich?" The mind reels at those words. The man is filled with so much bile that it's a wonder that he doesn't ignite and blow up.

And as much as we'd like to laugh at the idea of Gingrich becoming president, don't forget to also be afraid.

Ronald Reagan, an amiable imbecile, became president twice. And Bush Jr., a total imbecile, managed to have it stolen for him twice.

So as much as we want to laugh at the idea of a "President Gingrich," let's learn from history. And no matter what, let's do everything humanly possible to prevent this from happening.

1. Republican PTB will make sure Newt is marginalized.
He was kicked to the curb when he became a liability once before, and they'll promptly do it again.

5. D-E-L-U-S-I-O-N-A-L-!!!
The scary part is, is that there are actually some people in our country who are letting him believe this is a good idea. What a waste of campaign contributions.

6. I'd like to think that the Religious Right will ignore him, but
I've already heard from deeply religious conservative friends (Baptists) that they like him and his whiplash-causing soundbites. They are willing to ignore his personal history even though they say they believe that character counts.

7. I cannot help but notice how the Media is coming down on him like
a ton of bricks. It appears many are trying to head
him off at the pass so to speak.

There are at least two possibilities --He took a look at
the GOP field and thogut to himself--My Gosh, I have a chance
in this field. So he is going for the brass ring.

Another possiblity, He may be imitating Ron Paul. For
years Ron Paul has entered the Pres. race, realizing
he would never become President. However, it is a
great way to get your philosopy and message out. So
Ron Paul has run run run and gradually has built a
following that is almost cult like. Every year he
gains more followers. Gingrich may be doing something
similar.

It seems there are many out to stop Gingrich.

Well liberals didn't think Reagan could get elected either after everything he destroyed in Cali
but he did. In 1999 liberals didn't think Dimson would be elected as president either because he was as dumb as a box of rocks, it really don't matter how he got in the point is enough dumb asses voted for him that it allowed the vote to be rigged to his advantage so he became president. The real question should be is corporate America going to stand behind Newt and will enough dumb asses decide to vote in enough numbers to allow another 2000/2004 scam, after all look at the dumb asses that came out for corporate America to attack Health reform.

9. VP
Keep in mind that Newt was a key player -- though unelected/appointed -- in Cheney's OVP. This included his going to CI HQ, with Cheney and Libby, to pressure analysts to say that Iraq posed a danger to the US with WMD; and running the first meeting to do a work up on Joseph Wilson, three months before his NYTimes op-ed ran. Newt ran the meeting in Cheney's office.
