GOP Scum from Mississippi wants homophobes in the Army to have a "conscience clause".
Edited on Tue May-10-11 04:57 PM by TheBigotBasher
A bigot who recently claimed to celebrate "Military Spouse Appreciation Day" wants his fellow Tea Party Terrorists to pass an amendment to the Defense Authorisation Bill that would require the US Armed Forces to issue new “conscience” protections for service members who hate gays, because standing next to a gay man is worse than getting shot at to most Republicans (when in public).

The amendment states:

“The sincerely held religious or moral beliefs of a member of the Armed Forces that homosexual or bisexual conduct is immoral and/or an inappropriate expression of human sexuality according to the tenets of the member’s faith community shall be accommodated…. The Secretary of Defense shall issue regulations setting forth guidance to insure that the sincerely held religious or moral beliefs of members of the Armed Forces regarding homosexual or bisexual conduct are protected, accommodated…"

Congress would be required to enforce that this conscience clause is enforced.

The political wing of the Tea Party Terrorists, formerly known as the GOP or the KKK claims that extending equal rights to gay and lesbian people by allowing them to serve openly in the armed forces or enter into recognised relationships victimises bigots.

When asked about the Tea Party Terrorist started talking about tax cuts, while holding a kid and touching his balls.

1. Amend the amendment to require that anyone requesting such
conscience protection shall have their pay reduced 5% for each year of service. And be required to receive training to understand that they must treat others equally.

2. There was this "social experiment" they did sixty years ago...
when they integrated blacks into the military.

Did you folks know that at one time black people weren't allowed to be pilots because the Black Man couldn't see at night? Or to hold a job requiring you to be able to swim because the Black Man was incapable of learning to swim? This was the mindset of the military back then, but we know better now. Now we have black generals and everything.

The same thing is going to happen with the Gay Man. The homophobes in our military probably think the Gay Man does nothing but have sex 24 hours a day, to which actual gay people are thinking, "I wish!" Twenty years from now, we'll know better now.

4. That "experiment" has however
been conducted by almost every Country with a significant Military for at least 20 years. When will the GOP learn?

7. If the GOP learned, they wouldn't be the GOP
The only way to get anything done in this country is to ignore the GOP.

3. Absolutely pass this amendment
With one caveat. If the person is so morally against serving with openly gay service members, they can be discharged with an RE-4 reenlistment code (Not suitable for Military service).

In 20 years of active service, and 7 deployments to the Middle East, I've never once worried about whether the guy (or girl) next to me was gay. It just didn't matter to me or my shipmates. What mattered was does everyone do their jobs?

6. I'd support this IF....
Anyone can show me how open acceptance of homosexuals in the military are violating the rights of religious individuals to accommodate their religious needs. I've read the Bible several times, and I can't recall any "Thou shalt not march alongside gays," or "Thou shalt not share a bunkhouse with a lesbian," or "Thou shalt not shoot brown people when queers are near!"

The military does not require Christians to give up their faith, or to socially interact with gays and lesbians. It merely requires them to follow orders, and to treat ALL military personnel with the same level of dignity and respect.

IF someone could show me how serving with GLBT soldiers genuinely violates their religious beliefs, then I'd support some level of reasonable accomodation. Because simply serving does NOT violate any religious mandates that I've ever heard of, there is no need for this amendment.
