Padres Going Camouflage to Salute Troops, MLB fans chant “USA USA” in 9th with 1-1 score

Locker room sources tell us Padres players decided last night they wanted to honor the military by sporting the unis -- which they normally wear only for Sunday home games.

San Diego is home for many U.S. troops, including Navy SEALS ... and the USS Carl Vinson -- the aircraft carrier that buried bin Laden at sea.

We're told the Padres will also observe a moment of silence before tonight's game at PETCO Park to remember the victims of 9/11.

UPDATE: The Padres announced all active, retired, and veteran military personnel can get two free tickets to tonight's game. You can hear the cheers already ... "USA! USA!!"

MLB fans chant “USA USA” in 9th with 1-1 score

Philadelphia Phillies fans chanted “USA USA” during last night’s game against the NY Mets after President Obama announced that Osama bin Laden was killed in a raid by U.S. Navy Seals.

While Americans celebrated in the streets in front of the White House and at Times Square as shown in this photograph, baseball fans in the City of Brotherly Love diverted their attention from the game to acknowledge the incident.

Normally we don’t mix politics with our sports site unless it’s important enough like when a Prima Donna travels around the country dropping pucks at NHL games trying to take the identity of a “hockey mom” or like this incident when MLB was mixed with a long-awaited justice.
