He and the rest of this early crowd are part of the media noise machine under the theory that any attack against Obama is a good one and they will all probably flame out. The GOP is also testing their message to see what sticks with voters and what doesn't, if nothing sticks, they will come up with a throw away candidate and go from there. If they get a working message, then you will see someone emerge that looks sane along the lines of a Jeb Bush.
