Don't think that those of us here who are fighting against the problems in the HCB aren't wanting
the GOOD things within it to not get through. It does seem like we're in the final week of this, with all the smiling going on in the Senate. We'll see, but understand this -

We're just supporting the people who are fighting for more progressive breakthroughs on the bill and are far from prostrating to the other side --- BUT you'd think based on some of the 'under the bus' actions going on, that not only some here, but the WH itself doesn't want the most progressive bill we could truly get (and that's why I support the Liberals in Congress & those who support them in media).

The actions of our true Liberals are a way to secure that the changes to the bill that are secured by the enemy side (by the Joe Liebermans and the Olympia Snowes and all the other bought & paid for senators) gets balanced out by our Liberal side fighting for as much in this bill as possible for the people!

Some would just have it be watered down JUST to have a bill signed - you cannot do that, and you must do every tactic that the other side is doing so as to not make the bill totally worthless!

I think it's very honorable that Howard Dean is using his well known and successful name, that helped usher in Democratic victories the past 2 cycles, to push us to contact and speak out to the Congress to give us the best damned bill we can get.

Not only Howard, but many more elected officials, mainly the Liberal senators, are pushing hard for changes to the bill to help us as much as possible. Their actions are going to bring many changes to this country - but ultimately - it is going to be our responsibility to bring in more Liberal candidates into the elections to keep progress going - we're only having these health care discussions *BECAUSE* we fought so hard with Howard Dean to bring about a 50 state strategy to elect more Democrats, and he's to be credited for that, but you'd think the WH and some of the supporters of the president think it's smart to mock one of the good guys. Do that to the peril of the party!

Whereas I'm very concerned about what this bill is going to look like, ultimately, without a Public Option, I realize with them being so close to a vote, we're basically going to get some type of bill very soon, whether we want it or not - because they clearly are making deals with Nelson & Lieberman no matter how unnerving that fact is. What I hope though, is that once it's passed, that Congress determines that it's a good start and pushes again for further health care changes, much like they do every few years with the minimum wage and trying to get it passed - and it's up to us to make sure they KNOW we want them to start again.

And a big FU to the repukes in Congress who fight against EVERY SINGLE PIECE of reform that is designed to help ease our burdens, they are a blight on this Earth, and I hope they all lose their seats... (most of which Slimy Slobberin' Joe Lieberman)

So, what's the odds of a HCB signed by the new year? 50/50? I think because it's been a goal to have this done by the end of the year, they're going to try and sweeten the pot for Lieberman, the dirty bastard.

Let's hope Lamont or someone else runs against him hard - one thing's certain that scumball needs out of the Senate because he's had way too much of a hand in the way this bill has been turned into a heavy mix of good and bad.
