Rep. Barney Frank says Minority Leader Pelosi reassured House Democrats that the COLA change (which amounts to escalating cuts to Social Security over time) floated in the press will not happen.

from a Mass. representative should not be taken as a representation of the admin.'s position, while Jay Carney's non-denial, and discussion between the terms "slash and cut" tend to make me question this a little further.

Lets allow Obama make a statement, or at least release one...

I had no doubt that what was released was simply a trial balloon or something of that nature. We'll see what the final results are, but I've yet to see anything about cuts to benefits actually happening.
