1. Oh goody, it's the "Take Gore's comments out of context post!"
And of course, the poll is not reality-based since Gore has no plans to do that.

And kudos to Gore for calling out within the article itself the fact the people would rush to take his remarks out of context.

This OP proves the point.

2. The CNN panel was just discussing the same question: What if Gore ran? Should Gore run?

5. Totally unsurprising. Why does the left have to buy into the MSM bullshit?
Always falling for divide and conquer.

11. Good question!
Now I know that the right wing trolls have been out in full force here lately, and I must admit they do a great job of trashing the president, and getting the same old Obama haters to side in with their right wing BS posts, but I would think that any sensible person on the left could see through the right wing BS! For the life of me I can't figure out how any "real" liberal, democrat, or progressive could think that a primary challenger against president Obama would be a good idea! No matter what the outcome it would hurt the chances of keeping a democrat in the WH! I don't think there is anyone out there who could beat the president in a primary, but wasting time and money fighting a challenger is simply asinine!

We need to keep the WH, and take back the house, add to the senate, and take back control of those states that ended up with republicans running them last year because so many democrats stayed home and didn't bother to get out and vote! I am pretty sure those in states like Wisconsin, Maine, Florida, and the other states republicans won have learned their lesson and won't be falling for the idea that staying home and teaching Obama a lesson is the way to go!

8. Think of it as another opportunity to vote for Obama then.
Or you could jump on the bandwagon attacking me for not supporting President Obama enough, in your eyes.

4. Al Gore can't win in this political climate.
Now, if I could magically install Gore as President in 2012, without having to worry about whether or not he would win, that would be different.

It would make a GOP victory more likely.

10. Gore could not win against Obama.
He could win against any Republican they could field, but he'd not get that far.

No matter who is up this time around, we will be voting for a corporatist.

17. If there were a primary, which I doubt, I would absolutely vote for Gore.
He wouldn't be my favorite choice being that he was once part of the DLC (maybe still is for all I know), but he is clearly far more progressive than Obama, particularly with regard to the environment.

but you're welcome to your opinion, of course.

27. Did you read the Gore article?
I have to wonder ... because in it Gore predicts that Obama's opponents would take his criticism out of context for the sole purpose of weakening Obama with the left.

Yet all we where on Du is ... "Gore blasts Obama" ... just as Al predicted.

29. This poll is based on the HuffPo article that was in LBN and the CNN panel discussion I saw
I intend to read the entire Rolling Stone article later tonight when I have time to. I have seen only specially selected snippets so far.

As have most Americans, I'm pretty sure. (only seen snips)

That doesn't make the poll flamebait, even if you'd rather not frame it this way.

22. Al Gore had...

the best 10 years of economic prosperity since the end of World War II to run on…

he had an outgoing President who left office with a 60% approval rating…

he had a bumbling idiot, with a drunk driving conviction and a wife who ran over and killed her boyfriend with her car to run against...

AND YET HE STILL DIDN'T WIN.

In fat HE COULDN'T EVEN CARRY HIS OWN STATE!

Yes I know he "technically" won Florida. But in all honesty, it never should have been that close. Tweety is right, he ran a bad campaign.

What makes any sane person believe he would be better than Obama?

Oh, I almost forgot… his VP choice ended up being a turncoat… yet another great Al Gore choice!

30. Gore was a lousy candidate...
Spare me the "Bus stole the Election" comments. He wouldn't have had to if Gore had won his own home state or any of a number of states. He never clearly enunciated what him campaign was about and couldn't decide if he should stand with or stay away from Clinton (not withstanding Monica-gate, I think Clinton would have won him the votes he would have needed).
