Poll question: Should Obama declassify and speak publicly about oil company and other lobbying for Iraq War?
The recent revelation that http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/secret-memos-expose-link-between-teletubbies-and-invasion-of-iraq-2269610.html">Tony Blair met with BP and Shell execs who wanted to get a piece of the oil pie in Iraq and so pressured him join Bush in the then upcoming Iraq War is a stark reminder of how little of the true causes of that war have leaked out here, how little they have been investigated by Congress, and how essentially nothing has been said by those at the top.

The Brits are at least grown up enough to have that Chillcot investigation into the Iraq War.

This was one of greatest disappointments with Obama: that http://professorsmartass.blogspot.com/2009/03/my-questions-for-obama-via-bill-moyers.html">he didn't call bullshit on the childish lies Bush used to sell the Iraq War and tell us what actually happened, who asked for it, what they expected to gain, and what the American were expected to gain if anything.

Should Obama do so now as it becomes harder to avoid?

1. Note the unrec.

Sure seems a slippery slope. They start by refusing any critique of Obama, and wind up protecting Bush.

Nice.

6. In his second term
That would be a great time to declassify a large pile of things, starting with Iran - Contra, Air America, Cheney's energy policy meetings, support of various right wing dictators, arms sales to Saddam, the run up to Iraq, Panama / Noriega, too many to list. The second term is generally where legacy is considered.

7. This is not really legacy, this is just his job. He was elected to
make change. And I tell you this, I am personally sick of hearing about the deep anti equality 'faith' of a President who is covering up great crimes. His 'faith' is a thing of no value at all, in fact it is a negative, evil thing if it is going to declare war crimes to be Sacred and love to be wrong.
