The Chronicle: Letter to the Editor
President Barack Obama has fulfilled several campaign promises in just his short time in office even though he inherited two wars, a bad economy, trillion dollar deficits, and a broken health care system.

Political critics, pundits and so-called experts, paid by lobbyist or corporations all have something to gain by knocking or putting down these accomplishments. Of course the Republican Party is trying to win back something they lost in 2008 so they are just plain mad.
Ultimately the president's biggest victory has been Health Care Reform and the State Children's Health Insurance Program. They provide every American opportunity for affordable health insurance. This is federal law so do not be intimidated by state lawmakers and their rhetoric. Federal law will always overrule state law so go purchase your affordable health care insurance today.

skip....

Change does not happen overnight. The media and the other side would have you think otherwise. I stand by my president and the promises he has kept.

The entire letter is here....http://www.theleafchronicle.com/article/20110317/OPINION03/103170349/LETTER-President-Obama-has-stood-by-his-promises?odyssey=tab%7Cmostpopular%7Ctext%7CFRONTPAGE

I know this letter goes against the DU narrative, especially the last sentence I posted, but it is something I believe in as well and something Obama told all of us in 2008....CHANGE TAKES A HELL OF A,LOT OF TIME AND HAPPENS IN BABY STEPS!

5. Sorry but no. I didn't vote for him to extend indefinate detention, and other Bush policies.
If I wanted Bush Light, I would have voted for McCain.

He specifically said he wouldn't go with a health insurance mandate. (But I guess I'm just a 'fucking retard' or something)
He specifically said he would put on his walking shoes during a labor dispute.
Then there is the white house stating it has the authority to unilaterally assassinate its own citizens.
His continuing support of the Bush policy of indefinite detention at Guantanamo.
His tacit support for the treatment of Bradley Manning.
Etc...

The point isn't that change takes time, I understand that, the point is that he's not doing what he said he would, and in numerous cases is doing the exact opposite of what he promised. That's change, but not the kind of change I voted for.
