Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks interviewed Rep. Diana DeGette (Democrat, Colorado 1st) regarding Rep. Chris Smith's (Republican, New Jersey 4th) bill that proposes exempting only abortions from "forcible rape" from the Hyde Amendment that bans taxpayer funding for abortions. DeGette explained that first priority for this new Congress should be job creation and expressed disappointment that HR 3 was about restricting legal health care methods instead. Also, "forcible rape" is an archaic term that put the onus of evidence on the victim.
