Reince Priebus elected new RNC Chairman
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/01/14/5841915-reince-priebus-elected-new-rnc-chairman-

The new chairman of the Republican National Committee is Reince Priebus.

Priebus won the post after seven rounds of voting at the RNC's winter meeting, besting four other candidates - including outgoing chairman Michael Steele.

Controversial video from October, 2010 ---

My thoughts:

These people show a really perverse mindset in how they believe proper governing should be accomplished. You don't keep saying "Obama" like that and not catch on to your errors. Once, sure, it can happen. Three times and you're just plain scary, and your motives for saying the president's name over and over when mentioning how Osama Bin Laden should be executed, have to be addressed as being more than just a slip of the tongue. Ah... smell the 2012 campaign of Haley Barbour ratcheting up!

Obviously, the GOP leaders have "addressed" his actions this past election cycle and have made their final decision today.

2. ...so he's a liar, as well as a hate monger. Is he a chickenhawk, too?
With the disgraceful Republicon record of chickenhawkery, American citizens have to assume this new clown is one, too...

4. they really have no shame - they boast of their violent "jokes" and imagery as part of the game and
the more famous of them laugh to the bank reaping millions in contracts like Rush and Beck.

I'm sure someone at the White House has to have known what this guy said in October... they can't be too thrilled. Steele was a goof, this guy looks willing to be quite incendiary...

14. Even then, as you say, he made a snarky, "oh yeah" reply. Republicans do that to fire up their base
who love hearing the President's name as a substitution for Bin Laden. It's "Teabaggerese".

16. Can someone please explain to me why Alan Grayson would be too extreme to head the DNC?
That's what I keep hearing, and to me there is no one else more perfect for the job.

Yet - no one says much about Reince.

I feel like the rw gets away with so much and the Dems get called out on every little thing.

I know, life's not fair.

20. Amusing, but not meaningful. It was clearly just a gaffe, and has no relevance to politics.
Yes, it's tempting to deliberately interprate anything a Republican says in the worst possible light, but in this case I think it strains credulity to suggest that he was even aware what he was saying.

21. I saw and heard it as mocking the President and his saying "Obama" instead of
Osama" to make the teabaggers and the rest of the party happy.
