What Obama could have said.
I'm trying to appeal to independents because it is independents who decide the elections. That's because we have this stupid two party system where both parties balance out and the fickle outliers get to decide who gets elected. Did you ever notice that the democratic countries who are doing better than us economically all have a multiple party system? And the countries who can't seem to dig out of the hole, like Greece and Japan, have a two party system?

There's not a damn thing I can do about this inconvenient truth. This country isn't going to change it's political system in my lifetime.
