A 2 year extention. That makes it an election issue in 2012.
This was a winning issue for the Republicans in 2010, and now Obama has lost the moral high ground and the ability to believably claim that he will oppose the tax cuts in 2012.

In return, he got a one year extension of unemployment benefits.

Tactically, this was a win/win/win/win/win for the Republicans and the wealthy.

3. A two year extension means it will become permanent...
Republicans will make this THE campaign issue next year...and as usual Democrats will buckle under to pressure to make it a permanent rate...

Why you are seeing almost no criticism of the deal...even from the likes of Coburn...
