U.S. Rep. Pete Hoekstra says he has lots of opportunities when he leaves office in January, and he won’t entirely rule out a U.S. Senate run in 2012.
“Lots of people have talked to me about that,” said Hoekstra, 57, “but we just got through a grueling race.”
The Holland Republican lost a brutal governor’s primary in August and has not hid his frustration with Right To Life of Michigan, which endorsed only Attorney General Mike Cox despite Hoekstra’s 100 percent rating from the organization.
Cox finished a distant third in the primary, and many analysts believe Hoekstra would have defeated Gov.-elect Rick Snyder if not for Right To Life’s move.
