1. Maybe because they've been accused of being wholly-owned subsidiaries of Corporate America...
...so many times and so loudly?

Doesn't matter, though. No matter WHAT POTUS and co do, they'll get plenty of shit for it from someone.

resignedly,
Bright

2. Their intervention in GM's collapse...

...and its resulting rebirth are part and parcel of the hated 'bailout'.

Liberals may love the jobs, but GM is still an Evil Corporation getting taxpayer's dollars.

Conservatives may like seeing a business receive billions, but hate the workers whose jobs were saved -- unless and until they work for no dollars an hour, and sing songs in praise of Sen. McConnell while they work.

And a lot -- not a majority, but a lot -- of the people whose jobs were saved don't care -- they'd rather be unemployed with a white man in the White House, than working with a colored President. Macomb County is the home of the original Reagan Democrats.

It's lose-lose. No good deed goes unpunished.

I'm not surprised there were no ceremonies.

4. What success?
They still owe billions and billions of dollars, and are still pretty much on life support. He's not going to get any closer to GM and Chrysler than he'd get to the bailed-out megabanks when they announce that they're profitable again, either.

5. What success? The IPO?
That's not a success. They opened at 33 bucks, and wound up still owing us 28 Billion dollars.

Actually being repaid would be a success.

16. I'm left handed
what does that mean?

Interesting aside. The word sinister was once a derogatory word for people who are left handed.

12. They seem to be completely incompetent in promoting anything
GOOD they actually do - I just read about the GM money being paid back, and wondered the same thing...it is just like the Obama tax cut - no one has ever heard of it.

Fuck this sham IPO and the failure of a company ripping off taxpayers (again) through it.
