2. I thought he would win....
He has been a pretty good governor in that he has done no harm to our state which is already reeling from global economics. Kasich is just an ass hole, a guy who has been sucking on Wall Streets tit since before he was involved with politics.

Ted's a preacher, a pacifist and a genuine good guy.

5. Let's hope he does. Ohio has problems, as you'd expect
a large state to have, and the prognosis is better if an adult is in charge of trying to solve them.

Which would suggest that Strickland is the far superior choice.

6. I sure hope so. I can't imagine what kind of damage
Kasich would do. He'd phase out the income tax - the largest revenue source only to time it so that he would no longer be in office to deal with the cuts that it would require. Privatize the Ohio Department of Development? Great.... more taxpayer money to his wall street peeps. If he's elected and rolls back the Strickland green energy initiative - I'm sure we'll see dozens of renewable energy projects that are in the pipeline scrapped.

8. If he does, you might thank the NRA ...

Ohio governor lands NRA endorsement in campaign
Updated 5:27 PM Monday, June 14, 2010

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The powerful National Rifle Association endorsed Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland on Monday in his re-election bid against Republican John Kasich, picking the battleground state for the first of its general election endorsements in 37 governor's races nationwide.

***snip***

If history holds, it will mean important grassroots campaign support for him, which is especially valuable in Ohio's remote rural regions.

"The governor comes from a part of the state where, like many other areas of Ohio, hunting and fishing and owning a gun are a way of life and right people value very much," said campaign spokeswoman Allison Kolodziej.

***snip***

With polls showing Strickland and Kasich, a conservative former congressman and Fox News commentator, locked in a close race, the NRA's support could tip some independent and Republican votes his way. So far, the race has centered on the economy and jobs — with little attention paid to social issues such as gun rights or abortion.
