Do you have any plans to change tactics when the teabaggers take over?
they'll have 5-6 Senate seats this time around, probably another 8-10 in 2012 - the entire South and Mountain West. we'll probably spend the next 2 years watching impeachment procedings on CSPAN. What are you plans for living in a country run by teabaggers, the Koch brothers, Newt Gingrinch, Sarah Palin, John Roberts, and Rupert Murdoch/Glenn Beck? More of the same, or something new?

1. They aren't going to take over.
Seems to me they've already peaked. I don't expect them to gain any significant power in Congress.

9. I think another country like Sweden will invade us if Teabaggers take us over
I expect all countries to feel sorry for us if that happens. I know for one I will head out of here.

And they can't fool all of the people all of the time.

3. Rubio is the only sure teabagger that will be elected.
The rest are in tight races or loosing.

Wait until November 3 to throw in the towel.

Though to answer your question. I intend to continue voting against the idiots and convincing other people to vote against those idiots.

6. They are idiots
and that's dawning on more and more people. The question is, will it dawn on enough people before the election? We need to be really vocal about it, not just sit around making plans for when they win. Liberals have not been making enough noise. I can hollaer at least as loud as any teabagger.

16. Some are idiots, most are racist, all are fanatics.
The advantage Teabaggers have is support and financing by the Koch brothers and others.

13. The denial is pretty thick in some spots
Their base is dying off? Really? then why are they suddenly poised to take a bunch of Senate seats?

I guess I will bookmark this thread, to see what the "optimists" are saying a month from now.

14. First off, they are just Republicans. They have always been nuts
Edited on Thu Oct-21-10 07:59 AM by Bluenorthwest
Only straight folks think that the latest are worse than the Brownbacks and the Coburns and the Helmses who have always, always been in the Senate speaking hate and intolerance. It is nothing new that we have conservative Republicans running for office, it is a constant, not a new thing.
Second, they are not poised to take 'bunch of Senate seats' at all. The GOP might win a few, some think they could get a majority, but they are wrong about that. Even if they gained a slight majority, that would not be the first time, at all, and it is far from a 'take over'.
I know that straight folks are not used to paying attention to the nutters, but these nutters are no worse than the last batch, they just have this 'Tea' affectation that is distracting you from the fact that they are Republicans. Rubio is the Republican nominee in Florida, not the nominee of the Tea Party. There is no Tea Party. Just a Republican Party, which is just like the Republican Party always has been. Insane, bigoted, fear based and pandering to the lowest among them.
November 3 is going to upset your apple cart. And when the Republicans convene and all the so called 'Tea Party' candidate are their delegates and nominees, and there is no National Tea Party Nominating Convention, will you then understand that 'Tea' is a facade that fooled you into not seeing the Party of Bush as what it is?

15. Bennett was the Republican candidate for the UT Senate seat
Lee is the Tea Party candidate, and is on the ballot as a Repuke because Bennett, one of the most partisan, right-wing, reactionary Senators, was deemed too liberal for the tea baggers. Angle, Paul, Miller, Rubio, Ron Johnson are not "just Republicans"

Please, keep thinking that this is just business as usual. It's probably easier to take that way. I wish I could find some rose-colored glasses to help keep the forthcoming train wreck out of view.

19. Actaully, this is bussiness as usual.
Republicans, after 2006 and 2008 went on a tear about no being conservative enough. They set up and funded the Teabaggers to raise a ruckus. Republicans know that what they need to get their voters out right not is extreme, just as they know that the teabaggers, like a lot of moderates, liberals, and progressives are angry about things.

Bussiness as usual is winning elections, and they know by history they should win this one.

Teabaggers are crazy and extreme, but they are bussiness as usual, because this is about winning elections.

22. Bingo, they are "teabaggers" until 11-3
safe in their election, if elected they will then morph back to a garden variety, corporatist republican ...

As noted, this is just a repackaging of the old product, the simpletons who actually believe this crape will be disappointed, but make no mistake, the opportunits who are riding the wave will VERY quickly fall into Washington DC mode - heck, Angle let that slip aleady with her babbling about having pull with Demint to try to talk the origional teabagger in that race out ...

rather than being blow outs. But we won't know what happens until that first Wednesday after the votes are counted.
