1. Explanation of my vote for "Other Other"...

While I think that ES&S, the corporation that just bought out Diebold and now has an 80% lock on U.S. voting machines--all run on 'TRADE SECRET,' PROPRIETARY programming code with virtually no audit/recount controls--might balk at Clinton on social issues--ES&S, after all, was initially funded by reclusive rightwing billionaire Howard Ahmanson, who also gave one million dollars to the extremist 'christian' Chalcedon foundation (which touts the death penalty for homosexuals, among other things)--(I am not kidding--that's the kind of folks who are 'counting' all our 'votes' with 'TRADE SECRET' code)--I think they might figure that her promotion of "free trade for the rich" outweighs the social 'downsides' and might let Obama/Clinton win, if the rightwing coup d'etat to come is not yet quite ripe.

But if the rightwing coup d'etat to come IS ripe, then it won't matter.

Our first order of business should be getting rid of the 'TRADE SECRET' voting machines. We can't even prove that Obama/Biden were elected (although I think they were--albeit with a shaved mandate). I'd bet money that at least one third of Congress was NOT elected. Interesting that betting and guessing is all we can do. Nobody counts votes any more. They're all just blips on a screen in some rightwing billionaire's nerd dungeon. Return the people to the voting process; count the votes in PUBLIC VIEW--and we might have something--a rather great idea: Democracy!

"Other Other" is a protest vote. Another blip on a screen. Ah, me!

2. Voting rules are made state by state

So speak to your State. Change your State. I can only address my own. States handle the elections. If your votes are counted in a billionaire's basement, that is an issue only the people of your State can address, others have no standing to do so.

6. It's a dumb idea

If Obama/Clinton 2012 wins, then what happens in 2016? Hillary will be getting a bit long in the tooth to run for President... she'll be 69 on election day, and we ripped McCain pretty good for being 73 and trying to be president. So then who runs in 2016? Some new person, maybe, but what are their odds of winning without the experience of being veep?


I'd rather that Biden either run with Obama again in 2012, then retire in 2014 and let Obama's pick for a new VP get a couple of years experience before running for President in 2016; OR Biden be a one-term VP and have an Obama/______ ticket in 2012, with Biden retiring on January 20th, 2013.

12. I'd say many people voted for McCain because of Palin...

un-enthused RWers who weren't happy with McCain. But then again, many people voted AGAINST McCain because of Palin, too. So, I think VP choice DOES matter. And Obama won big with Biden.
