Anyone see CNN's Ali Velshi totally take down the RNC spokesman after Obama's speech?
I was cheering standing in front of the teevee. Rick Sanchez said they had been bombarded with tweets after the exchange. He seemed surprised the tweets were praising Ali Velshi for calling out the Republican talking head and speaking the truth about working people. Ali said working people are 'not a special interest.' Velshi also said small businesses are not hiring people because they do not know what to expect on healthcare and tax cuts, and what they need are small businesses loans which they are not able to get.

The RNC flack knew Obama's speech would help motivate Democrats. His sick smile at the end said it all!

Will post video link when, and if, it becomes available.

2. The positive reaction on CNN was odd and unexpected, but I liked it.
Wolfie was almost hyperventilating.

If this is rope-a-dope the Prez just moved into the pummeling phase. Tomorrow will be an interesting news day.

Wolfie is very aware that he works for a big corporation, and is always careful to kowtow accordingly.

11. velshi said small business was not hiring because
they could not get loans, not because of health care or tax cuts . . . the rnc guy used those talking points. velshi applauded that we had health care.

everybody else was in obama-bashing mode . . . as usual. the least cnn could do is have someone on from the left.

12. Nice. Most MSMers get their narrative from the right wing.
Most times, right wing conservatives don't just frame the debate for the Democrats, they also frame the "story" for lazy journalists who, in their need for "narratives," just pick up the one being handed to them by the party of No.

(MSNBC is the laziest network out of all of 'em with their "marathons" of jail shows.)

I know. Because I watched the speech on MSNBC and when they immediately returned to their prison shows, I turned to CNN and caught the awesome Ali Velshi exchange with the RNC flack.

LOVED it judging by how he keeps saying things like, "Obama seemed more energized today than I've ever seen him," and, "He really brought it to the Republicans today!"

interaction with the audience! He's asking Jessica Yellin if he thinks Obama can keep this up 'til Nov. and she said yes. He's STILL going on about it!

Conservative Dem lawmaker jokes about Speaker Pelosi dying

By Jordan Fabian - 08/26/10 12:05 PM ET

Democratic Rep. Bobby Bright (Ala.) on Wednesday ducked a question on whether or not he would vote for Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) by joking that she "might even get sick and die."

Bright, a centrist Blue Dog who voted against the healthcare reform law, made the comments in response to a question about whether he'd support Pelosi to retain the Speaker's gavel.

Speaking at a local Chamber of Commerce event, Bright "joked that Pelosi might lose her own election, decide not to run for the speaker’s job or otherwise not be available," the Montgomery Advertiser wrote.

He then suggested "jokingly" that Pelosi could fall ill and die in the coming months, thus preventing him from having to vote for her as Speaker. His remarks reportedly drew laughter from the audience.
