Does Romney have a prayer for 2012 ?
I don't think so. He could be the next Ronald Reagan for the R's but the Mormon affiliation kills him with the fundies.

1. Au contraire.
I'm betting he has a lot of prayers for 2012.

Not to mention magic underwear.

3. I think he is the heir apparent.
Like Dole and McCain before him, it's "his turn". I'm still not sure how gwb jumped the line in 2000, though.

19. Their base loves Palin. She acts like a Christian fundamentalist and leads the teabaggers.
With the media on her side, she is the one to beat in their primaries.

4. can the inventor of Obamacare win the GOP primary?
I think he can, actually. Deep in their lizard brains, I think that even the teabaggers know that all the crap about Obamacare being radical is a fantasy.

9. Agreed
With the most hideous aspect of the bill(mandate) coming from the leading conservative think tank(hate those rethug compromises) The Heritage Foundation, I seriously doubt Romneycare will be an issue in the primaries. Also the guy is not lacking in the stud/sexy department, watch out for him if he gets the nomination, he cannot must not be taken for granted.

5. Anyone can win the nomination for the Repubs.
But the whole New England Romney Care thing won't sit well with some ultra conservatives. Romney also has tried to make himself more conservative then he really was.

10. I think the Teabagger Fundamentalist FoxNEWS WorldNutDaily crowd will pick the nominee in 2012
and I don't think Romney is their man. Most GOP base activist genuinely believe that they lost in 2008 in large part because McCain was way, way too liberal and too cowardly to expose Obama as foreign born/Socialist/Communist/Atheist/Muslim Fundamentalist that he obviously is.

In the eyes of most of the GOP base besides being a Mormon, Romney is boring and has a record as Governor that is way too liberal.

I cannot see the Republican Party base willing to go along with the 2008 strategy of running a "liberal" like McCain or Romney - Of course I mean liberal according to their world view that considers Obama a Communist.

I suspect whoever wins the Republican nomination in 2012, their first requirement is that they will have to be BATSHIT CRAZY - or at least fake it and convince the GOP base that they are.

11. He can't win in Iowa or S. Carolina
so I don't think he can win. Period. He's too mainstream for today's brand of nutbag Rethuglican.

12. He will probably get the nomination, sending the very right into a frothing fit...
I expect the 'Baggers ahd their allies to select at least one candidate to run against Mitt in the general election as a separate party candidate and split their vote from the moderate gopers...may be the end of the GOP as we have known it.
I am thinking Newt may be involved with this, but it is way too early to tell.
The article by his ex wife may have done a good job of sabotageing his ambitions...

15. Not anymore.
Republicans just voted to go to proportional delegates in their primaries, which more or less erases any chance Romney had. He's the kind of guy who if he doesn't wrap up the contest early, he's fucked.
