Obama is slated to attend a luncheon at the governor's mansion. She and others in her party are then scheduled to visit South High to discuss their careers with girls.
Various officials and celebrities are joining the first lady for her Colorado visit, including Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Labor Secretary Hilda Solis; Christina Romer, chair of the White House Council of Economic Advisors; U.S. Rep. Betsy Markey, D-Fort Collins; Colorado first lady Jeannie Ritter; and actresses Susan Sarandon, Traci Ellis Ross, Alfre Woodard and Fran Drescher, the political-news website Politico and The Associated Press reported.

Obama has embraced a program to offer 10th and 11th-grade girls access to accomplished women. The program advocates mentoring girls on careers and financial literacy as well as other skills.
