Arizona treasurer Dean Martin suspends bid for governor
he Republican race for governor narrowed Friday after state Treasurer Dean Martin made the surprising announcement that he was suspending his gubernatorial campaign.

Martin, who announced his candidacy in January, was initially considered a front-runner for Arizona's highest elected office. He entered the race as Gov. Jan Brewer's campaign was floundering, with the incumbent battered by a rough first year that included a protracted budget battle with members of her own party.

But a lot has changed since then.

Brewer is riding a wave of popularity and national media attention since signing Senate Bill 1070 into law, and Martin's campaign appeared to have trouble gaining traction. A June poll suggested he was running a distant third behind Brewer and Paulden businessman Buz Mills.

1. Couldn't he get Jerry Lewis to stump for him?
Or Sammy David Jr. Or any of the rest of the rat pack?

4. I imagine his past association with the Golddiggers was a problem.
I'm sorry, and I've read this story, but everytime I see that name, I think of THAT Dean Martin.
