After all, aren't these the same people who constantly whine and moan about how lawsuits are clogging up our justice system and costing Americans billions of dollars each year - not to mention how those "greedy trial lawyers" are "lining their pockets" with exorbitant fees?

One would think they'd be THRILLED that the President helped to ensure that people who were harmed by BP's malfeasance will be compensated without having to drag BP into court, clog up our justice system and pay who-knows-how-much in attorney fees?

But of course, they aren't. Instead, they're actually complaining that President Obama didn't allow this matter to be handled by the courts!

The hypocrisy is breathtaking. But it's nice that they're waving their true colors for all to see.

2. Maybe he is using something like reverse psychology on them
All he has to do is...anything... & they hate it. He can train them to hate their own ideologies just by using them himself.

3. But I think his most important concern was the people affected.

4. You're buying into the idea that the decision by BP
was anything more than a simple voluntary agreement.

The President can't unilaterally resolve legal issues. BP didn't have to agree to this and their agreeing to do so is in no way a settlement or waiver of the right for injured parties to sue BP.

5. Not sure where that came from...
although as a Senator, Obama did vote to make it more difficult to access the civil justice system via class action lawsuits.

7. Exactly, it does not matter what Obama does, they will spin it
negatively even if it means hypocrisy. But hypocrisy is as natural as breathing for Republicans.
