After watching this clip, I think the WH needs to unleash Joe Biden on this BP mess.
I mean in a PR sense. While I'm happy with seeing President Obama up and front as much as possible, I think Biden can put the human touch on this thing perfectly and he can take on the Republicans criticisms of the way the administration is currently handling BP.

Let President Obama handle the details and let Joe handle the "emotional needs".

1. I'm a Biden supporter but I think they both bring something and compliment
each other well. Maybe Joe could have been available to answer questions (like today) but it's really up to Obama to communicate to the people and take the lead, which he's done admirably.

One of the things I've always loved about Joe is his passion and honestly answering questions (which people love to refer to as gaffes) and letting us know how he really feels.

2. the fact that they've released the clip may be their testing of the waters...

.... let's hope so. The VP candidate is traditionally the attack dog on the campaign trail. Getting into the much while the top of the ticket keeps his hands clean.

Would be a great tactic to use the VP in that way IMO.

Either way, it is not typical of them at all to release a segment of the press briefing like that period, much less of something so political. Further proof of how Barton really stepped in it today.

4. Agree 100%
They should unleash him on the morning shows tomorrow and Sunday to publicly beat the shit out of the Repubs, if anyone remotely defends the comments then Biden should have a green light to call them out in the harshest terms.

Some recommendations, "You unAmerican Son of a Bitch," "Damn you for supporting a multi national over an entire US region," "You are a Douche Nozzle" O.K, maybe not the last one.

5. Yeah, I would like to hear from Biden
more..but, to me Obama is just as "human". But, then I don't fall into the media's trap.

9. Yea, I'm not saying the Pres. isn't "just as human".
But there is a certain stylistic difference when it comes to Joe Biden. I know this sounds cheesy as hell, but Joe is like that warm old favorite uncle that you just wanna give a big bear hug to... unless you've pissed him off and then you live in fear that he may just eat your face.

I was just thinking of what the "media" does do.

I think it would be good if Joe Biden Vp got out there more and then we'd have both versions of human.:)

7. It was good. But, I'd like to hear them say that bp callously violated the law
and because they did that 11 people are dead.

15. That's the attitude I voted for!
I loved his opening, the definition of government's role; to protect those who cannot protect themselves in situations such as this. That's what the Republicans just don't get & never will because of those greed-filtered glasses they choose to wear.
