US Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden pay their respects at the August 7th Memorial Park on June 8, 2010, after laying a wreath in memory of those who died in the August 7, 1998 American Embassy bombing. US Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday praised Kenya's leaders for mending their differences and furthering reforms, which he promised would bring more US support. Washington had in recent months applied unprecedented pressure on its top regional ally Kenya to overcome its political disputes and implement a reform agenda decided in the aftermath of post-election chaos more than two years ago.

Jill Biden, the wife of U.S. VP Joe Biden, receives a foot rug made by a student of Beacon of Hope when she toured the facility in Ongata Rongai, Kenya Wednesday June 9 2010. Partially funded by the U.S. government, Beacon of Hope teaches HIV positive women the disease skills that can help them generate an income. This will help them to sustain themselves and their children. Great pics as always, Clio! I wonder if anyone has more experience talking to world leaders than Joe. I hope his trip was successful, and I'd kill to look like Jill in that turquoise dress!

7. Joe and Jill are great U.S.A. ambassadors
It seemed clear that Jill Biden wanted to see the slums that are far worse and so unlike any here in the States.
Anybody think a Repug would at least visit one here at home?

but regardless of who it is some part of me as always offended when well dressed caucasians are led through developing countries with massive security wearing boots or whatever else emphasizes the disparity....
