5. Cameron is to the left of many Democrats in Congress; he's both pro-choice and pro-gay marriage.

Granted, I would vote for Liberal Democrat Nick Clegg over either Gordon Brown or David Cameron, but it'd be foolish to equate British conservative policies with American conservative policies.

6. He SAYS he is, but....
check this out:

This is the sort of person he has working important jobs.

Same old Tories in a shiny new package. David Cameron would flog his own parents on live TV if he thought it might garner him an additional vote.

9. My point is that it's incorrect to equate European conservatism with American right-wing nut policy

As for David Cameron, I do think he'll rue Friday's results because due to the unpopular austerity cuts he will have to institute, Tories may soon be out of favor for a generation.

Speaking of The Guardian, I was pleased to see they switched endorsements from Labour to the Liberal Democrats. Of course, Brown is an absolute disaster, so perhaps they were jumping ship, but still, Clegg needs a paper to stand behind him. I hope Clegg comes in a strong second and becomes the powerbroker in a hung parliament.

10. And he supports single payer
Agreed that Labour would be preferable, but can we get "conservatives" like that some day?

the same way Bush was.

Is there no end at all to your right wing apologetics?

Perhaps if it were limited to this instance, we could chalk it up to the usual American ignorance of other nations....

4. Dean's/Edwards' campaign manager Joe Trippi & Mark Penn's partner work for subprime billionaire...
Edited on Tue May-04-10 09:51 AM by ClarkUSA
Republican-just turned-Democrat FL Senate candidate Green against Democratic Rep. Kendrick Meeks, which should guarantee Green will lose. Speaking of Mark Penn, he's helping Gordon Brown, so Brown will lose, too.

As a UK Tory, Cameron is to the left of many Democrats in Congress, being both pro-choice and pro-gay marriage. Liberal Democratic candidate Nick Clegg, who I would vote for if I were a Brit, is the only one who isn't getting outside help from American advisors from the Democratic party.

12. After the Clinton/Blair cooperation of the 90's I assume dems and labour were working together.
Then again you never saw Obama openly embracing Brown in his bid for election. Brown tried hard to get into Obama's good graces by endorsing him before the election and being one of the first foreign visitors to the White House after the election but it seems that Obama doesn't trust/favor Brown. It's probably because he doesn't believe that Brown can win or maybe he just likes Cameron more.
