First stop on the Wall Street reform tour .... Wall St! (Thursday)
Edited on Mon Apr-19-10 08:30 AM by Clio the Leo
President Barack Obama, stung by efforts to drag health care across the finish line, is taking a more hands-on approach to revamping financial regulation at its outset, drafting legislative language, mounting political pressure on Republicans and trying to control the terms of the debate.

Mr. Obama will ratchet up the pressure with a high-stakes appearance on Wall Street, according to Democratic officials. "The president is expected to discuss the need for Wall Street reform outside of Washington in the coming weeks," said White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki, declining to comment further.
