Barack Obama: Keep violent criminals locked up.

Mike Huckabee: Commutations for murderers and rapists.

Huckabee on crime.

1. You need to look at this like a Republicon
You know, take a wide stance.

Because republicons are 'special.'

2. But what would Mike Huckabee do if Kitty Dukakis was raped and murdered?

3. Nice question. I've always said theat repukes are never asked the same questions Dems
seem to answer to. And then after Dukakis answers the question the media has to tell us why he looked uncomfortable and too robotic. I kept waiting for Bernard Shaw to ask a similar question to Bush and it never came.

9. Being "liberal" on crime is not Huckabee's problem -- being clueless is
There are people who ought to be pardoned who aren't and people being let out who should be kept locked up for the protection of society.

Huckabee's problem wasn't that he was too soft-hearted -- it was that he pardoned people, almost at random and over the strenuous objections of prosecutors, in the effort to seem like a nice guy.

Trying to spin a Republican line is likely to backfire on us. But telling the truth will win over both "common sense" conservatives *and* liberals.
