Biden: Obama is brilliant. I didn't know how good he was until i joined the team
During a DNC fundraiser in Dallas today Biden told the audiance:

"After i joined the team, I realized why it was I did not win. So for those of you who endorsed me first, you all made a mistake".

I said that you HAD to be Obama's VP, because picking anyone else meant "he's not really serious."

15. Very Astute Comment on Your Part Sir
I'll admit to having doubts about Obama during the campaign but when he selected Joe Biden as VP, that told me everything I needed to know.

My father couldn't stand most politicians but he liked Joe. Always thought that he was a very smart fella and said what everyone else was thinking...

20. Anyone else meant Bayh or Kaine
But even though Biden's potential lows were much lower than Bayh's -- he "could cause us real pain" -- he could also "reach higher heights."

"Seeing Bayh right after Biden provided some interesting contrasts and comparisons. Listening to Bayh talk, I thought, There's no way this guy will color outside the lines. Biden may cross them with too much frequency," Plouffe writes.

Kaine, with his lack of foreign policy experience, was at the bottom of the list. After Plouffe and Axelrod briefed Obama on their meetings, the future President still wasn't sure.

http://tpmlivewire.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/10/plouffe-obamas-veep-pick-coin-toss-between-biden-and-bayh.php

I like Biden too. How those other two knuckleheads made it to the final cut confounds me.

18. Well, It Is Obvious That They Have Great Rapport...
They actually get along a lot better than I anticipated. For example, think of the banter between Joe and the President when Joe asked him if it was so great that Joe said that HCR was a BFD, then why didn't the President say it?

42. The only bad thing about having Biden for VP
Is that I'm sure a lot of the right wing crazies would prefer him as President.

Nobobdy thought about doing any harm to George Bush, because a President Cheney would have been so much worse.

26. I'm one of those who endorsed Joe first, and Joe is right now.
But I'll add this: one reason we know Obama is good is that he picked Joe.

Completely off topic PS: The Firefox spell checker still doesn't know that "Obama" is a word.

28. Joe Biden will be in Bethlehem, PA on April 15th
He'll be headlining a fundraiser for John Callahan who's running for PA's 15th congressional district. A political scientist was quoted in the paper saying the event is sure to be a great success because Biden is so gaffe-prone. People will show up just in case he says anything embarrassing.

Hey, whatever works. I myself suffer from foot-in-mouth disease.

In Washington, a "gaffe" is when a politician inadvertently tells the truth.

Joe has a habit of saying what on his mind and damn the spin.

It's why I like him.
