22. mentally deficient? Probably...
not a disqualification for being a Senator, however. Unfortunately.

4. McConnel can't possibly be "lying his ugly ass off." His pants might be on fire but his ass is long
gone from all of the lying he has already committed.

8. I'm going to have to follow...
this on DU. The House debates and all of the lies by the right exhausted me.

10. You can bet things will be much slower moving in the Senate.
Edited on Tue Mar-23-10 01:59 PM by jefferson_dem
They are voting to adjourn now, which I think actually means they can start debate.

13. Are you serious?
SOme (many?) Senate rules defy logic and common sense, at least on the surface.

I just turned on, and when I saw that they vote on adjourning I thought it's some weird R trick, but now I see that all the Ds so far are voting AYE and the Rs are NOs

9. They are trying their best to get it to go back to the house again.
I think the democrats should have told them they were going to be in the senate and then they adjourned to the white house and did their business there. Let republicans debate , obstruct and lie in the senate while the real work is being done in the white house.

12. Oddball way of doing business...
I think this is adjournment of the previous "session" which allows them to start debate on the new legislation - Reconciliation.

14. Ut oh.. what did I step in today?
I missed debate and they are going home?

Is it another attempt to shut the gov't down like in 90s?

18. Hehe
Me too. I'm guessing it is a move by the Liars to make this entire process last another year.

I guess they can probably do a "motion to fix spelling error" a few times too?

28. Voting on motion to proceed to the reconciliation bill.
The vote here should be very close to the final vote on reconiliation (once they get there).
