Fox News' Bret Baier interrupted President Obama multiple times (VIDEO COMPILATION)
Fox News' Bret Baier interrupted President Obama multiple times during Wednesday's interview.

Baier interrupted Obama so many times, that at the end of the interview, he interrupted Obama once more to apologize. Saying that he wanted to be sure that Fox got its "money's worth" with President Obama.

MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell said that he could not recall a reporter ever questioning or interrupting an American president in such an aggressive way. Certainly, O'Donnell argued, Fox News never took that approach with former President George W. Bush.

The Associated Press reported just a few of Baier's interjections:

Several times Obama chided Baier for breaking into his lengthy answers with follow-up questions.
"Bret, you've got to let me finish my answers," Obama told Baier, the news channel's White House correspondent during the Bush administration.

"Sir," Baier responded, "I know you don't like to filibuster, but ..."

"Well," Obama said in cutting him off again, "I'm trying to answer your question and you keep on interrupting."

The tone was set early. Baier first asked about the latest efforts in the House to pass the bill, which elicited Obama's standard talking points about the benefits of the overhaul effort. Baier tried to bring Obama back to the question.

"Bret, let me finish," Obama said.

7. I don't even know why they continue
to treat Faux like a legit news channel. They should never be granted a one on one interview with the President.

11. Not to defend fox but.............
IS it the job of the press to give any president the time to spout off talking points or is it the job of the press to question and challenge the president?

In my opinion, the President looked like he was trying to defend the indefensible. This plan is a POS give away to the insurance companies and does nothing but to put a check mark in one of his boxes. For christ sakes he didn't even know what the Connecticut deal was.. I even knew that. He looked pale, ashen and weak.

Edited on Thu Mar-18-10 11:34 AM by jobwithout
People look at the person rather than the policies. You love Obama and would defend him even if he said " were gonna give the insurance companies twice the premium and half the coverage". The RW'er loved Bush and would have even if he had pledged to nuke every muslim country in the word. people like you and the right wingers are just two different sides of the coin.

Politicians need to be challenged. This is not a monarchy and regardless of how charismatic the person is...he or she has to be challenged on the issues.

29. It's called civility, jobwithout...
And when you're interviewing the President, regardless of party, you do not interrupt. It was classless and proved how shitty FOX truly is. ESPECIALLY when you compare it to their interviews with Bush - who was allowed to finish every goddamn thought that flickered in his moronic head.

So don't give me that bullshit. You defending FOX News - and low post count - have me thinking you're probably here to troll.

Rational argument? Respect for our President? LOL! They are, to a person, the scum of the Earth. Why the President tried to treat them as something they're not (normal?) is a mystery.

17. He will "filibuster"? What the hell is that supposed to mean?
Hey, Markie! If they didn't want him to talk, why the hell would they invite him on? Does Helpern actually believe that the President would take time from trying to fix his country in order to sit there and let some idiot nobody yammer in his face? These assholes never cease to amaze me with their idiocy.

shown to the President in that interview is unreal. We're not talking about disagreeing with some policies...Brett kept trying to derail Obama as he was trying to answer the damn questions. Basic manners, anyone?

28. I think you and many of the others offering similar comments would
probably have praised such an interview if had been of Bush.

I think its fair to ask how he views the deem it passed procedure. The fact that republicans have used the procedure should mute their complaints, but it still seems like a shady maneuver.
