Dan Quayle quotes...
Edited on Sat Feb-13-10 11:06 PM by Drunken Irishman
More dumb than Bush - who'd think that possible?

"I am not part of the problem. I am a Republican."

"I have made good judgements in the Past. I have made good judgements in the Future."

He's the Terminator!

"People that are really very weird can get into sensitive positions and have a tremendous impact on history."

Uh, what?

"Republicans understand the importance of bondage between a mother and child."

This often was said to be by Bush. Nope, Quayle!

"The American people would not want to know of any misquotes that Dan Quayle may or may not make."

Thankfully Marylin isn't keeping a notebook!

"The future will be better tomorrow."

Glad he cleared that up. I was about to panic.

"We don't want to go back to tomorrow, we want to go forward."

We must move forward, not backward, upward not forward, and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!

"We have a firm commitment to NATO, we are a *part* of NATO. We have a firm commitment to Europe. We are a *part* of Europe."

To his credit, we once were part of Europe...

"We're all capable of mistakes, but I do not care to enlighten you on the mistakes we may or may not have made."

Again. Thank God Marylin isn't keeping a notebook!

"Welcome to President Bush, Mrs. Bush, and my fellow astronauts."

He DID eat astronaut ice-cream once.

"What a waste it is to lose one's mind. Or not to have a mind is being very wasteful. How true that is."

You would know, bud!

"When I have been asked during these last weeks who caused the riots and the killing in L.A., my answer has been direct and simple: Who is to blame for the riots? The rioters are to blame. Who is to blame for the killings? The killers are to blame."

As opposed to trees. I bet Reagan would've blamed the trees.

"It's time for the human race to enter the solar system."

Where the hell have we been for the last 4.55 billion years?

"One word sums up probably the responsibility of any vice president, and that one word is 'to be prepared'."

He can count too!

"Illegitimacy is something we should talk about in terms of not having it."

Well he's right, guys. We shouldn't have any of it.

"I believe we are on an irreversible trend toward more freedom and democracy - but that could change."

That irreversible thing is so fickle, you know.

"For NASA, space is still a high priority."

And here I thought it was mostly there to figure out why gum loses its flavor so damn fast.

"Public speaking is very easy."

It is. He didn't say good public speaking is very easy, did he?

"I stand by all the misstatements that I've made."

God bless you, Dan!

How come we couldn't cut the other one off at the pass?

An good looking but unintelligent white man to look presidential and smile a lot. A face to get the blame if they do wrong.

They had Reagan. They prepped Quayle. Then the had Zippy.

Unfortunately...when your economic theory is faulty to begin with and you cannot have an arms race with a bunch of relgious nuts living in caves...honestly, do you think that Bush thought up Iraq all on his lonesome?

7. And don't forget his speech to American Samoans
You all look like happy campers to me. Happy campers you are, happy campers you have been, and, as far as I am concerned, happy campers you will always be.

8. I truly dislike Dan Quayle.....
...because he is the only person who has ever forced me to hope for the good health of George Herbert Walker Bush. At least for four years.

- And I'll never forgive him for that......
