The notes on Palin's hand are a red herring.
Her backers put them there deliberately to be noticed, in a desperate effort to give the illusion that she's literate.

1. Or, that's she's folksy.
"Oh, look. She doesn't use those fancy telepromptathingies. She just jots down a reminder like I do on the way to the store."

"She's ONE OF US."

*shudder*

2. How much did she get paid for this?
Wasn't it something like $150,000?

She couldn't afford a few 3 x 5 cards?

4. Written in crayon.
Maybe color coded. But even that might be too complicated.

This is just so unprofessional. Delivering a well written speech with the assistance of a teleprompter is hardly something a 12 year old would do. Writing notes on you hand to help remember your 6 grade class election speech is.

I'm sure she was trying to make the point that she could speak withut a teleprompter and in doing so she took the risk of screwing up. Which she did.

As dumb as she is I can't believe she couldn't remember "energy," "taxes," and "lift American spirits."

6. The real relevance of her hand notes is that in her speech she zinged Obama for teleprompter use.
She's full of shit, and would do well to use a teleprompter. Anyhow, in his Q & A with House Republicans, Obama clearly demonstrated he isn't dependent on a teleprompter--time for Republicans to let go of that gibe.

12. True, but so what if he is dependent on the teleprompter sometimes
I really don't want my President wasting time to memorize speeches when there are myriad other more important things to do.

And Palin's telepromter bashing will only come back to haunt her if she does ever indeed run.

Everyone uses one at that point and when they're in office. Reagan did. Poppy Bush did. Clinton did. And so did Bush II.

Big deal.

14. By "dependent" I meant conservatives' claim that he couldn't speak at all without it.

Just stammer and say "uh." So his tour de force with House Republicans couldn't have come at a better time.

10. Reminds me of the SNL Rahm Emmanuel skit.
"You called me out on Facebook? What are you, 14?"

Most people stopped writing crib notes on their hands in high school. I don't think she ever grew up.
