Was that writing on Palin's palm in Nashville?

Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin addressed the inaugural National Tea Party Convention in Nashville, Tenn., on Saturday. The Post's Philip Rucker and Ann Gerhart have the details. But Post photographer Melina Mara caught an interesting shot of a pre-keynote speech Palin. There appears to be writing, or ink, on Palin's left palm. Crib notes ("Make fun of teleprompters")? An abrasion? A Tea Party palm tattoo? Or just proof of folksiness?

and that was actually the first thing I noticed too. OTOH, I've had old looking hands like that since I was a teenager, but they are definitely getting quite gnarly now as I age further.

I'd never noticed that her hands looked that old, but things like your eyesight and wrinkles and skin move pretty fast into a decline once you pack on enough years.

(Oddly, the most likely proof that they did it, was that immediately after the debate, they accused Kerry of cheating because he took a pen out of his pocket. (Though unless MIT invented a magic pen that could get answers and write them as Kerry held the pen, it is hard to imagine how Kerry's pen could have been of concern.)

I don't think the press ever saw handwriting on Obama's hand - or Kerry, Gore, either Clinton, Dean, Kucinich ... etc. This was answering questions to her loony base - usually with no content.
