Obama Removes North Korea As Terrorist Sponsor
Edited on Wed Feb-03-10 07:57 PM by sandnsea
In My Email:

Dear Madam Speaker: (Dear Mr. President)
Pursuant to section 1255 of the National Defense Authorization
Act for Fiscal Year 2010 (Public Law 111-84), and in order to
keep the Congress fully informed, I am providing a classified
report prepared by my Administration. This report includes
information on our examination of the conduct of the Democratic
People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) from June 26, 2008, through
November 16, 2009, and concludes that the DPRK does not meet
the statutory criteria to again be designated as a state sponsor
of terrorism.
Sincerely,
BARACK OBAMA

2. Basque ETA, FARC, ELN
I have no idea or opinion, one way or the other. This is the claim.

"Cuba has provided “limited support” to designated Foreign Terrorist Organizations, as well as safe haven for terrorists, such as members of the Basque terrorist group ETA—despite a November 2003 public request from the Spanish government to deny them sanctuary. The State Department also says that Colombia's two leftist rebel groups—the National Liberation Army (ELN) and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC), both of which regularly carry out acts of terrorism—maintain a “permanent presence” in Cuba."

3. AFP: Obama keeps North Korea off US terror list
http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp/article/ALeqM5hQxVsh7IFDFjEbeY_MKOAF6zTFyQ

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama on Wednesday certified that North Korea would remain off the US list of terrorist states, despite some calls from Congress for the Stalinist state to be put back on.

The former administration of president George W. Bush took Pyongyang off the list of state sponsors of terrorism in return for progress on declaring the extent of its nuclear activities in 2008.

But following a series of provocative measures, including an atomic test and missile launches by the secretive state last year, some prominent members of Congress demanded Obama reconsider the move.

But the president, in a letter to Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill confirmed that North Korea "does not meet the statutory criteria to again be designated as a state sponsor of terrorism."

7. Cuba is getting the Haiti treatment

American elites still hate Cuba. That's the only explanation because there's really no point to our policy towards them anymore. Or maybe they're just waiting for Castro to die.
