Butterfield endorses Lewis
U.S. Rep. G.K. Butterfield has endorsed Kenneth Lewis in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate.

We share a heartfelt belief in the responsibility of making a difference in the lives of others and in our communities, said Butterfield. Ken Lewis has a strong and optimistic vision of North Carolinas future with the talent, leadership, energy and experience necessary to succeed.

Lewis, a partner in the law firm of Womble Carlyle, is seeking to become the Democratic nominee in the race against incumbent Republican U.S. Sen. Richard Burr of Winston-Salem.

Also in the Democratic primary are N.C. Secretary of State Elaine Marshall and former state Sen. Cal Cunningham.
