Warning of shortages if price adjustments are not permitted (Spanish)
http://www.eluniversal.com/2011/02/17/eco_art_advierten-escasez-si_2193429.shtml

(sales fall 28% in the 4th quarter)

(The manufacturing sector is requesting that the national gov permit price adjustments for controlled products to avoid shortages.)

(We are very worried that the national government has not taken decisions about the impact of the devaluation.)

1. price controls
always and everywhere lead to shortages, and ultimately higher prices.

2. I've read some arguments which say only the rich consume products
I've read some very interesting comments about the shortages in Venezuela. One of them implied Venezuela's middle and lower classes do not consume anything. I guess we wear pelts and hunt in the jungle for a living.

3. Where'd you read that?
I know trickle down economists like to think that's the case (that rich people are the only investors in economic growth), but I haven't seen that hear or anything.
