GM executive: "General Motors is back and is here to stay"

“We are committed to the Venezuelan market in the long term,” said Jaime Ardila, the president of GM South America
Economy
"General Motors (GM) is back and is here to stay," said Jaime Ardila, president of GM South America, to sum up the company's return to the North American markets (United States and Canada).

In a message to Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and Venezuela, Ardila said that GM's initial public offering (IPO) "will be the largest in history or, at least, it will be close."

With regard to the behavior of the US subsidiary in Venezuela, the top GM executive acknowledged the restrictions of the market, but he said that the company will try to do everything possible to take advantage of the production capacity it has in the South American country.
"We are committed to the Venezuelan market in the long term," he said.
