Deputy Wilmer Azuaje denounced today a "brutal repression" and haltings against the people who yesterday declared in reclamation to the prolonged blackouts of light which they are lived in the region. He described the action as the civil servants of the regional police like " disproportioned" and like unjust the haltings that took place.

"They mistreated those who protested, there are prisoners, there is a humble 80 year old couple, who is by this time in a hospital by the action of tear gases, there are people with pellets in the back, we have video, photographies of the great beating that people took" , the deputy said.

He related that yesterday approximately to 6 of afternoon in the Minagua sector people went out to protest and the students of the Industrial Technical who also went out, the manifestation was pacific but they did not delay the bodies of security in repress it. The parliamentarian insisted on which the problem in Barinas is strong. He indicated that the municipalities like Cross Walls, Andres White Eloy, Sabaneta, are affected with the most prolonged lapses of blackouts. " We are not going to continue allowing that the Barinas state, cradle of the revolution, where the Chávez family commands is where the problem has been accentuated, we have some prisoners in the regional police and are going to do all the necessary so that they are freed"


Denuncian "represión brutal" en Barinas contra protestas por fallas eléctricas

El diputado Wilmer Azuaje denunció hoy una "represión brutal" y detenciones en contra de las personas que el día de ayer manifestaron en reclamo a los prolongados apagones de luz que se viven en la región.

Calificó la acción de los funcionarios de la policía regional como "desproporcionada" y como injustas las detenciones que se produjeron.

"Maltrataron a quienes protestaban, hay detenidos, hay un matrimonio humilde de 80 años, que se encuentran a esta hora recluido en un hospital por la acción de los gases lacrimógenos, hay personas con perdigones en la espalda, tenemos video, fotografías de la gran golpiza que llevó el pueblo", dijo el diputado.

Relató que el día de ayer aproximadamente a las 6 de la tarde en el sector Minagua la gente salió a protestar y los estudiantes de la Técnica Industrial que también salieron, la manifestación era pacífica pero no demoraron los cuerpos de seguridad en reprimila.

El parlamentario insistió en que el problema en Barinas es fuerte. "Aquí se va la luz tres veces al día, durante 10 y hasta 15 horas, la gente está cansada, los sectores más populares son los más afectados porque esto causa problemas en sus aparatos electrodomésticos".

Indicó que los municipios como Cruz Paredes, Andrés Eloy Blanco, Sabaneta, son los más afectados con los lapsos más prolongados de apagones.

Anunció una protesta pacífica en los próximos días frente a Corpoelec. "No vamos a seguir permitiendo que se hable del estado Barinas como la cuna de la revolución, donde mandan los Chávez es donde el problema se ha acentuado, tenemos algunos detenidos en la policía estadal y vamos a hacer todo lo necesario para que sean liberados".

1. I hope they make those photographs and that video available immediately
so we can see what happened.
