that the media is going after for Reid now, whose comments were FAR worse than Joe's "clean and articulate" comments during the primaries.

I hope their relationship has improved. Joe is a major asset to this administration.

9. Somebody on Stephanie Miller's show summed it up perfectly: Grandpa words.

It's their generation. I'd written on DU that I could hear my parents saying that without being derogatory or unkind in the least. That was my sense of both what Joe and Reid said. (not that they're old enough to be my parents, but they were the generation before.)

And I also heard a caller yesterday say == Biden's right. Do you think they don't consider white candidates with the same objectivity? We don't want Snoop Dog as President, and these are men who began their lives when segregation was the norm. It had to shape who they are somewhat. And I can't applaud them enough for coming so far. Look at all the other politicians and plain 'ol Americans who still harbor the hatred in their hearts.

If the story is true, Biden had the perfect comeback. It seems that the truth is Obama and Biden get along, probably respect the other's ability to think a problem through, not just shoot from the hips or say the politicaly correct thing. Although I believe Obama is more prone to that since his responsibilities our No. 1. It is good to hear the smarter talking heads mention that the two get along.

Unhappy that Biden failed to convince Obama that less is best in Afghanistan, but, what do I know, only that I am very uncomfortable with all those U.S. troops being sent there.

though I always allow for the fact that they know things that we don't. I don't think there are any easy answers for the horrible mess that Bush/Cheney created. I'm afraid we're going to be in Afghanistan for a long, long time.
