Because I refuse to let them bring me down. I'm serious about avoiding the other forums.

Obama has disappointed me in a few areas, and pleasantly surprised me in others. I don't expect him to be perfect or superhuman or even to be radically progressive.

I think that anyone who has read Obama's books is armed with a better understanding of how he thinks, and therefore won't be shocked or disappointed when certain actions and decisions seem to come from out of nowhere.

It's so easy to lose perspective around here. He's not beyond improvement or being held accountable for his actions, but he sure is far and away better than having McCain in the WH.

DU is strange......sometimes I feel like I am the only one who is happy with the new President. He certainly is not perfect, but is one hell of an improvement form the recent past.

Obama has done and said things that have really rubbed me the wrong way.

But - I am still thrilled that he is my President.

11. People weren't very happy with JFK a good deal of the time

AND Lincoln didn't gain any popularity until he was killed. I think Obama may end up being the most appreciated president of my lifetime. I've never seen a person so well suited for the job. I kept my expectations realistic, so I'm not disappointed.
