A really memorable year

My daughter got us all tote bags filled with 2008 election memorabilia for Christmas. She made three DVDs: the convention, the debates, and comedy highlights. It was such a cool gift, as none of us ever wants to forget!

I had erased all that stuff from my TIVO and I'm glad she saved it now. These are memories we will relive many times in the future.

4. I didn't realize initially

how much detail there was on the DVD covers and inserts. We went low-budget this year and it brought out the creative side in her.

5. Wow! I want one! How old is your daughter? She did a fantastic job.

My daughter (who is only 4) keeps asking me when she will get to see the White House, where "Malia and Sasha will live". She wants to be their friends and invite herself over! I don't know many preschoolers interested in politics but every time I had the news on she would ask me questions and I would tell her all about Barack and Joe and the election so she knows who they are now. She went with me to vote, I started her early I guess.

that your daughter is already aware of politics. Having two young girls in the White House will help hold her interest when things get boring.

My daughter is in her thirties! She's been following politics with me for several years now and now is as addicted as her mom.

8. Yep, it was quite a year

A strange combination of the worst and the best, certainly one of the most interesting years that I can recall. I had so many things on TIVO that I kept for a long time and finally I started deleting them, as they were taking up too much recording space. On the other hand, my daughter is the super saver of everything and this is one time I'm glad she is.
