I'm Debi - from Iowa - work with my husband who is a practicing attorney. I have one adult son who has both physical and mental disabilities. Obviously Disability Awareness and Equality is important to our family. We were VERY lucky to spend time w/JRB and his family (and extended family - his staff and volunteers) throughout the primary period here in Iowa. Our focus now is getting Barack Obama elected as well as re-electing Senator Tom Harkin, Congressman Bruce Braley and all Democrats in our local races. (Oh, and seeing JRB become Vice-President of the United States b/c I KNOW Beau Biden will make a great Senator!!)

I used this username on another site to counter claims about Biden being extra wealthy, when he was one of the least wealthy candidates in the running. Given its specificity, and confusion with Joe LIEberman, I wish I had picked a different one. Anyway... Glad the JoeBiden.com bloggers recommended coming here when that blog was shuting down. DU is an amazing place.

I live in upstate NY. Have worked in biology, chemistry, environmental science, etc. These days I spend way too much time on DU and listening to SFRC hearings!

I haven't really posted here since around January 3rd. But I occassionally stop by to check on the JBSG. It's always great to see you all keeping the faith.

At first I was torn about Joe becoming VP, but now I feel he can do a lot more at that post these days, as the Vice Presidency has become less ceremonial. It will also be nice to see Joe finally get the recognition he deserves for all his hard work and go down in history as a part of this upcoming adminstration(God willing). Not to mention, I am dying to see Joe lay a smackdown on the Repub's VP.

I'm with you about first being torn re: Joe/VP. (I wanted him for SOS) But I think his name on the ticket would attract a lot of votes in November.

I believe the GE will be won by appealing to the center, without compromising the ticket's character/mission. This is something the McCain campaign will have to struggle with, to go right or center with their VP pick.

I also felt the same about the SOS position.
